He had cried..
Shuffling uncomfortably, anguished, drawn out misery
Moans of pain permeate my memory.
Soon he'll forever be unconscious
Blood and bruises adorned his body, skin clammy
Machines beeping rhythmically
I hugged him for the last time
"Gently, carefully, don't break his ribs dear,"
The sterile sickly smell -
Stung my nostrils
A flash of purple
I saw her, so did he.
Grief-filled sobs echoed from the room
Out one came, in two went
Nurses dared try to keep me out.
I stared transfixed at the shade of his deathly white pallor.
I begged, dared to ask.
But I have learned, He only takes the best.

You allow yourself this,
because to face reality
is far too much for you to pay.
I have already paid.
Your sins are not my own,
yet you still wish to cast me from my throne..
You know the consequences
I shall not repent.
Not to you.
Keep burning your bridges.
